Advice, Tips, and Insights From Folks Who Have Been There Before... Question: Over the last 10 years the restaurant group that I have worked for has employed the use of spotters or secret shoppers on a sporadic basis. We have found that the information gathered was good, but not great, and was a better way to gauge what was happening at the bar than it was at measuring dining room service or food quality. Lately we have found few if any companies that provide this service reliably. As a result, I have decided to open my own business to provide this service to others. How do other restaurant owners feel about this type of service? What kind of information would restaurant owners want or expect from this type of service?
